It had a virus and was left in an unusable state, so I need to re-install the operation system, which has been impossible thus far. I was able to boot into Windows enough on the damaged PC to get to the login screen, where I restart it holding the Shift key to get into Advanced Recovery.
I have tried Refreshing and Resetting, Repairing startup, repairing from image, restoring from a restore point, and booting into safe mode, nothing worked. I did so, tested the DVD to make sure it was bootable, it was fine. I'm stuck. Checked my user manual, it says to disable my second HD in order to use a recovery disk. Disabled the 2nd HD, no change. This did not help, and I was told it was beyond my ability to fix and to send it in for repairs, though since it was not under warranty they would send me the bill once they assessed the damage.
I said thanks but no thanks and asked if replacing the SSD would help. I was told it would not. Was this reply helpful? Yes No. Sorry this didn't help.
